What is in the file?

A route file for preparation and navigation

The GPX metadata states 165 kilometres and 8,900 metres of climbing, with the start in Auron on 25 September 2026 at 13:00 and the finish in Nice.

Distance and elevation can look different after import. Watches and route planners often recalculate the track using their own elevation and distance models. Use the official headline figures for race communication and the GPX mainly to study the shape and location of the course.

Importing

How to use the GPX

The file uses GPX 1.1 and can be imported by most modern GPS watches and route-planning platforms.

1

Download the file

Save the GPX locally using the download button on this page.

2

Import it

Open it in your GPS or route platform and check that the start, finish and elevation profile look sensible.

3

Sync and verify

Send the route to your watch or phone and compare it again with the organiser’s final information shortly before the race.

Distance and elevation

Why your watch may not show exactly 165 km

The GPX metadata contains the official headline figures of 165 km and 8,900 m of climbing. The track itself contains thousands of points, and software may calculate a slightly different total from them.

That is normal: point filtering, map matching, elevation correction and platform algorithms can all change the displayed totals. For cut-offs and official communication, the organiser’s published figures remain the reference.

Important on race day

Not a replacement for the official course information

Verify the final route before you travel.

During the race, follow the organiser’s markings and any last-minute course changes. A downloaded GPX can become outdated as soon as the route is adjusted.

100 miles for Alzheimer

My fatigue will pass after the finish. Dementia will not.

My parents-in-law live with dementia. That is why I am running these 100 miles for Alzheimer Nederland.
